Alliant's products are based on open standards, allowing ease of management and a smooth deployment.

Suppliers and customers recognize the benefits of deploying voice over IP. Many suppliers have put products in the market place to meet this need. However, up to this point, products have been voice products with IP added (IP enabled PBXs) or they have been data products with speech added (voice enabled routers). As a result of this disjointed approach, a company often needs to acquire many disparate boxes depending on what features and configurations are needed within the enterprise.

The boxes might include: media servers, media gateways, voice mail servers, ACDs, switches, routers, and firewalls.

This does not create a truly converged solution, but, instead adds a great deal of complexity to management of the network. The legacy PBX is dying.
